Clearly Broke Taking a New Turn
I am a new blogger for ClearlyBroke.com and after looking through the previous posts, I felt the sudden need to address the audience directly. This blog has been focused on the life we live when we are ClearlyBroke as opposed to the life we can lead when we are not. Twelve years ago I was living on public assistance, had 52 cents in the bank, my first baby was just born and neither my husband or myself were able to find work. We were the epitome of being clearly broke.
Today, we live comfortably and we rarely check to see if there is money in our bank account (I used to check every time I went to the grocery store to make sure the check would not bounce). To make sure you read that correctly, it took twelve years to work out of the hole we had fallen into, but it was well worth the fight to live comfortably today.
The path to financial salvation is not an easy one. I live today in fear of going right back to where I was just a small time ago. There are, however, changes that can be made to help you move out of the clearly broke stage and into the stage where spending money does not give you chest pains like those of a heart attack.
No - you will no longer have to put back things in the grocery store in order to afford the bill.
No - you will not have to lie to your children when you do not have the money for a field trip.
No - you will not have to tell your kids you are not hungry because there is not enough food.
No - you will no longer have to ask the food pantry for food.
There is a life outside of being clearly broke and I hope I can help you along the path to salvation with my true life stories, tips and tricks to making life a little less financially stressful.
